Marjude (not verified) says:

"Rodham" was the surname used by Hillary after her marriage to Bill and in Arkansas. The image was a liberated woman who had a mind of her own and should be respected for that. As time progressed, on the heels of criticism for not wanting to take her husbands name, she decided that she would be Hillary Rodham Clinton. Now, I believe she has decided to be called Hillary Clinton. This gives the image of a married woman who can still be and think independently from her husband. As you can see, Hillary has adjusted her name to suit what she felt was politic.
Obama, on the other hand, was always Barack Obama. It is true his middle name is Hussain but its use was clearly not politic as expl. John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Maybe Abraham Lincoln had a middle name but I don't know it. What the hell is the difference?
