Thinkaboudit (not verified) says:

“In Europe,” said the Independent’s Mr. Usborne, “there is such a degree of puzzlement that Americans could vote in Bush not just once, but twice.”

Mr. Usborne: No one was more surprised than US citizens in "blue states" that this proverbial bull-in-a-china-shop took a 2nd term (but please remember: he was only elected once...the 2nd time...Gore won the first election in the popular vote).

Truly, I was extremely disappointed, but not really surprised at his "2nd" term, as the Republican fear-machine had been working for years to herd our sheep-like electorate to the right. The suffering the world has endured at "the decider's hands" over the last 8 years has made me ashamed to be an US citizen. Had Gore been elected, what a different world this would be today. No use crying over spilled milk, though - time to move the country back to it's roots and constitution. Time for hope and CHANGE. Time to mitigate some of the damage we've done.

I see that the administration is trotting out press releases on the upcoming Gitmo trials - just in time to scare the electorate (again) in hopes of securing another Republican administration. More bogey-men ... "BOO! vote for me". Please, somebody pass the Tums. We're in more danger from internal sources than from external ones.
