I'm a long time liberal but I come from a family of hard-core republicans (in a swing state, to boot). They all say the same thing; if Obama gets the general nomination, they'll all vote for a democrat for the first time. It's not just talk- they're forwarding me pro-Obama editorials and have donated money to the campaign. I think this is indicative of a larger trend, and it's worth considering, esp. with McCain in line to be the republican candidate.
