It's amazing how before he steps up to become governor, David Paterson's abilities are being diminished. Paterson's peers have time and time again remarked about his keen intelligence and sense of comity. In other words, he's smart and works well with Albany's leadership.

How does that compare to the relatively unknown small town Republican elected official who became governor as a protege of Alfonse D'Amato. Two words, George Pataki. I guess I should mention that David Paterson is ethical.

In my humble opinion, David Paterson will do well as governor. Frequently underestimated the men and women of David's generation are more than prepared to lead, with or without regard to race or physical (dis) ability.
