If we fall, it won't be due to imperial overreach. It will be because we can't get our fiscal house in order. Our illustrious congress, of both parties, have no restraint when spending. Standing armies and navies are the most expensive things in the world to maintain; however they will have to be scaled way back in order to fund rising medicare and debt service payments.
