I'm with Superfly. Cathy Alter's work is funny and honest. No big bloated trips and self-plunging over-emotional blah blah. She rarely misses a chance to poke a little fun at herself and nudges us to maybe not take ourselves so woe-is-me seriously all the time. Goofiness is all right, and sometimes even leads to revelation. Sure there's some drama, but the laughs are a lot bigger. What a relief.
