The merciless, fascist Community Board 5 has shown a frightening—near Gestapo-esque attempt at sabotaging what could become New York's next landmark tower. This wouldn't be the first would-be landmark these aging citizens have prevented, but with a concerted effort from New Yorkers who value grand ideas, elegance and shear beauty there could be hope. People who have no quarrel's—or even applaud—this (and other) proposal(s) need to let their voices be heard just as loud as the blue-haired crowd who will stop at nothing to stomp engineered art.
