David DiBello (not verified) says:
I am also a lifelong fan of Elton, but never more so than today.
On face value, all men, especially in the political arena can support and defend a women's ability and rights to pursue their careers without discrimination. Of course all that support comes when the women in question is not in a position of charge over the supporter. In other words, when it gets personal and a women might be a man's boss, he will do everything for that contigency not to occur.
No where is that more evident than in Democrat circles, where Hillary should have been the inevitable nominee, but the closer she gets to the pinnacle of leadership, we see defections of Democrat males like Bill Richardson or Bill Bradley, or the whinning vile diatribe of Dick Morris, or such ultra left wing media elite like Chris Matthews sounding as if she should quit and go away when she's, in baseball terms, "a half game out" of first. One can conclude there is an underlying sentiment of "I can take being bossed around by a man, but its insulting coming from a woman."
A real man with altruistic motivations and intent, and a strong sense of self confidence would not fear a woman in a leadership role, but rather embrace her achievement and ability, learn from her and support her.
