I live right in that area, across the street from the Brooklyn Museum. Even in the past year things have gotten a lot nicer. Grand Army Plaza had a makeover at the end of last year and is beutiful now. A lot of new shops & resturants on Vanderbilt and Washington is cleaning up as well.
I like that Prospect Heights has a more diverse population - Park Slope is too hoity-toity...
