The fact is Perez is a young lefty with tremendous upside. He is only 27 years old and everyone knows a lefty takes longer to develop. Where else can you find a lefty who has a mid 90's fastball with an outstanding slider? There is not a better upgrade free agent wise in the 2008 free agent class aside from C.C. Sabathia. Unless the Met's are willing to pay C.C the money he wants, Perez should remain a Met. There's a reason why he won his arbitration case this year against the Met's. Don't be surprised if Perez pitches the Met's first ever no hitter.
