As an aside, I had wondered why Fossella was not being considered for Mayor in 2009. I believe he had tried in 2001 or was considering it.( This is similar to Koch's short and ill-fated campaign in 1973). Regardless I know see why Fossella was no longer interested in mayor in 2009.
