this is all very ridiculous. the simple solution is this:

all 1040 information disclosures should be a requirement for running for president.
this way, the playing field of "disclosed information" is a fair one, everyone's cards are on the table.

if your spouse has contributed in any way to your campaign either financially or through other means (mr. mccain's use of his wife's company's plane, for example) then you should be required to reveal 1040 information also.
