Paterson: No Short List for Senate Seat
November 18, 2008 | 10:49 a.m.
ALBANY—Governor David Paterson said there is no "short list" for who he might appoint to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate if she took a post with the Obama administration.
"Their really is not," Paterson told Fred Dicker when asked about a frontrunner on TALK 1300 Tuesday morning. "It's not like a poll. I think there are a lot of people who could serve admirably in the Senate."
Speculation has swirled about who Paterson might appoint. He said Monday that he would not appoint himself to the seat, and reiterated that point today. Liz and others think that Representative Nydia Velazquez is one of the more likely choices.
