Edward Murphy lost his seat in 1898. No Dem since then has been unseated in New York State, meaning that Chuck's probably Senator-for-life if he wants to be. Credit here goes to K.C. Johnson of Brooklyn College, himself nearly denied tenure in the History Department because he knows stuff like this. You know, history stuff.
