The folks over at the NYC Campaign Finance Board are abuzz with news about their executive director, Nicole Gordon. Sen. John McCain, it seems, has nudged President Bush to nominate Nicole to the Federal Election Commission, along with a slate of other candidates who he hopes will enforce the law more agressively.

"McCain has recommended the potential nominees in two private letters to the White House," The Hill reported yesterday, adding that, in Washingtonian circles, the New York City Campaign Finance Board is considered top notch for toughness, along with...the Illinois Board of Elections and the New Jersey Election Commission.
