OK, if former Miller aide Steve Sigmund's arrival on his white horse at Ferrer campaign headquarters is news, then so is this: Virginia's top political aide, Luther Smith, has also made his way to Freddy's camp, where he's on staff with a behind-the-scenes job rallying political support and trying to help turn back Mike's inroads into the African-American community.

Smith, along with having a melifluous surname, appears to be among the handful of Democratic staffers to have resisted the, er, inducements of the Bloomberg campaign, not an easy thing to do.
