Henry Kissinger, Local Mogul
Henry Kissinger isn't typically thought of as a player in New York politics, but he's everwhere these days.
Greg Sargent reported recently that he was hosting a Weld fundraiser.
And here's from KT's bio: "By the time she graduated at 21, she had moved up to become Kissinger's personal research assistant, and one of the few female professionals at the White House."
A reader writes:
"Between Weld and McFarland, he seems to be more of a power player in the GOP than Pataki! Who knew?"

With Henry Kissinger supporting her, is someone here going to tell me that she is not a Rockefeller Republican?
Of course, Kissinger also supported Ed Cox.
Why is this woman announcing so late to run against a U.S. Senator that most people have been planning to run against since last year?
It doesn't make sense.
As I said directly to you, Bob Fois, in another thread: just because you don't know the answer doesn't mean that there is no logic. There is a bigger picture. I will say it again: look at her campaign advisor...
