NRA: We Didn't Nix Diana
A lot of idle media speculation had the National Rifle Association secretly nixing Bloomberg-girlfriend Diana Taylor's FDIC nomination.
Over at Urban Elephants, NRA head Wayne LaPierre, speaking at a Young Republicans gala dinner over the weekend, was asked directly about this, and answered.

I had the pleasure of hearing Mr. LaPierre speak at a convention one time. Like many populists he mixes the reasonable with the fantastic in a delicious cocktail best swallowed with light thinking. By the end of his speech he was on to the Black Helicopters and the World Government. He started with going hunting with his family for food.
the NRA knew bloomberg was coming after them, they struck first and were smart enough to avoid taking credit for it...
