Aron Teitelbaum Gathering in Williamsburg

A press release from Aron Teitelbaum's people announces the giant Shabbos service tonight, and two more tomorrow, under a tent in Williamsburg (which Jason Horowitz told us about a couple days ago on this site).

From the press release:

Grand Rabbi Aron, the oldest son of Rabbi Moses Teitelbaum obm, arrived in Williamsburg, Wednesday (April 26) and, as the new Grand Rabbi, plans to reside there. Grand Rabbi Aaron's highly skilled qualifications and credentials as a speaker and charismatic person and as a dean and a rabbi who served Satmar in many positions for so many years make him well-qualified to serve as Grand Rabbi.

can you guys move on to another subject? I think the best indication that Zalmen is the real rebbe is that Aron hired a third rate PR guy such as Corey

isac (not verified) says:

This is hard to believe that the Aronis have invited the press to take pictures on Shabbos.

anon (not verified) says:

I thought the will named Zalman....

joe smith (not verified) says:

Well i figured u measure the strength of a PR company according to the customers they get, not the other way around, a real rebbe isn't named by PR, only by followers, and please look out for the real facts!!!

CHACHARATZKI (not verified) says:

Where will the highly skilled and qualified charismatic Grand Rabbi Aron Teitelbaum lead the Shabbos services after this first Shabbos? Will the Huge - 1,000,000 sq. ft. -Tent stay there forever?

Brian (not verified) says:

Zalmen's team was acctually the first to hire a 3rd party PR company.

How exactly is this political news?, isn't this still a political blog?

HUST? (not verified) says:

highly skilled ? qualified ? charismatic ? Grand ? Rabbi ? 1,000,000 sq. ft ?! and where did you find that exotic name of yours?! now zoly is the one named in the will as the succesor so let's all unite and support him thru thes turbulent times!

Anonymous says:

this is great! i'm waiting for the robocalls from ed koch and al sharpton encouraging me to vote for their candidate in this election. and when's the direct mail piece starting?

Saul (not verified) says:

Will the highly skilled qualified charismatic Grand Rabbi run for United States president?

zev (not verified) says:

Sources close to Gov. Pataki say that while the Gov. sat shiva with Aron in Kiryas Joel the Gov. offered him the vice presidency but the charismatic Rabbi refused stating "anything short of presidency will not be accepted"

sam (not verified) says:

Next weekend the Port-o-Rebbe will move his tent to Borough Park, then to Woodstock.

jack (not verified) says:

Grand rabbe Aron Teitelbaum is the best condidate to be the entire rebbi for the worldwide satmar community with its over 100,000 hasidim he is a charismatic man with alot of energy leth hope he will be able to head the satmar community as it was the will of his holly father rebbe moses ob"m until the coming of mossia

Bubba (not verified) says:

I hear there's an opening in Crown Heights, Rabbi Aron.. if you're gonna leave Kiryat Joel, move to Crown Heights.

Jimmy (not verified) says:

Since I am on neither side I went friday night to check both sides, I first went to the Rodney St. Shul and I saw approx. 1500/2000 people then I went to the tent on Lee Ave. and I saw approx. 10,000/12,000 people, to me it seems that Aron will be the winner.

Magee (not verified) says:

I did the same thing, and I believe that Aron is the "Slam Dunk" winner, he must have had 7 times the amount of followers over the younger Zalmen brother. No match here.

berney (not verified) says:

just a few facts the tent is only 12000 sq feet the max people that had place incide cant be more then 3000 becouse there was branches long 100 feet on both sides of the tent and only 8 steps that means on each step max 75 to 80 people times 8 is 640 people one side and the same on the other side together is less then 1300

berney (not verified) says:

cont.across the hadetable was only 5 stps and only 60 feet long which that means max 300 people o on all brenches together was only less then 1600 people now seating was 3 iles on each side approx 100 benches on each side on each bench 4 people thats 4 times cont.

berney (not verified) says:

cont. 4 times 200 bench is 800 people so the total is very clear 1600 + 8oo is 2400 people add people on the side and by the table you get close to 3000 includig boys and young kids. the satmar comunity in wmsbg has 7000 fam so the facts who has more is cler

StupidHasids (not verified) says:

How many misspellings, grammar & math errors in this Satmar's posts? go get your records straight by first going to 1st grade school.
BTW, how many seats in the main Satmar shul?.... 1100! including children like you.

John (not verified) says:

I was invited in the Rodney street shul to take pictures by some hasids who saw me with a camera (me?..a freelance photoghrapher from Greenpoint) I took the invitation I went up in the womens gallery which can't be viewed from the main church hall a Mr. Joel Mendlowitz accompanied me there and urged me to cover all the angels from all sides, will post the pictures here soon, there were approx. 1500 people in that church, I then went down 3 blocks on Lee Avenue where there was a Huge tent erected on a baseball field I tried going in but somebody told me to leave and just take pictures from the outside, I then went around on Taylor Street to the back and entered the tent there I took some amazing pictures from the much larger crowd until I was thrown out again, my estimate of people at that tent is approx. 10,000 or more, will upload the pictures here soon.

StupidHasids (not verified) says:

If you post pictures, I will know it's true.

Curious (not verified) says:

Looks like tradition is going to win, and the oldest son is destined be the Satmar Rebba, while His brother leads a smaller insurgent group. BTW, what's "branches in the tent"?

winningTeam (not verified) says:

Hi, Jinx. the Satmar rebbe was very popular and all his followers are with Aaron (older son). He always made it clear that Aaron should take over. All the reports that say Zalmen should take over are only from the past ten years when the Rebbe was sick and many times senile. His staff had some argument with Aaron and forced the Rebbe to change the will and brainwashed him that Aaron is not fit...Most of the Zalmen followers were not too fond of Moses Teitelbaum, so by going with Zalmen they clearly show that they just want to go against him. It is definately clear who the winner is. 12,000 people are not crazy. Aaron is a serious person who was always his father's right hand man......Will post more later....

Moshe (not verified) says:

They had a RV Trailer in front of the tent for R' Aron, they say that His son Mandale said to keep it for him so he will have where to sit shivah after his father, he wants to sit shivah in the first house that his father had in Williamsburg (like his father is sitting now)

Chaim (not verified) says:

There is one question that I have, I always new that on A slichos, or any other large occasion in satmar there was tens of thousands of people, how was that possible if you the Aroinem say that in Rodney there isn't place for more then 1500-2000 people, did you lie for 27 years or is it a lie now?

satmarhasid (not verified) says:

THe way the shul was arrange this time, with the bleachers moved inside the shul and the pulish closed, they didn't have place for more than 1500-2000 people.

False PR's, False will's will not change the will of the people
12,000 Williamsburg congrats clearly stood with Reb Aron and defiant the so
called will of Zalman
let it be very clear that All Reb Ahron's followers were the real followers of
the late Rabbe Moshe Zt"l and we all know that the rebba expressed his wish
numerous times in private and in public that his wish is that Reb Ahron and ONLY
he should lead the congregation after him, and that is the reason for so many of
the late rabbe's followers are now flocking to Reb Ahron
