McFarland to Spend More Time With Family
"This past Saturday, my 16-year-old daughter, Camilla, was caught shoplifting from two stores in Suffolk County, NY. She was arrested, arraigned and charged with two counts each of Petty Theft and Possession of Stolen Goods," reads the statement that just dropped in our mailbox. "I therefore am suspending my campaign activities until further notice. I will resume active campaigning only when I am certain that my daughter is okay and getting the help she needs."
Magazines and tabloids have already dedicated plenty of ink to the the abuse McFarland allegedly suffered at her father's hand, not to mention the gay brother she apparently turned her back on as he died of AIDS. We'll see if her campaign can survive this.

"My husband Alan and I are deeply alarmed by this incident and will be spending every waking hour in the coming days dealing head on with the repercussions of her actions. Our children are our first priority, and our youngest child needs our full and immediate attention.
"I therefore am suspending my campaign activities until further notice. I will resume active campaigning only when I am certain that my daughter is okay and getting the help she needs.
"This is an incident we do not take it lightly. Our daughter is a bright and wonderful child who we lov e very much. She has made a serious mistake and she will deal with the consequences of her actions. No one is above the law."

The people have a right to know the answer to the burning question: exactly what is the reaction of KT's estranged relatives to the news about her daughter's arrest?
I think this is mean. Drop out if you want for personal reasons. Let someone else bring up the child's problems. Why blame the child. Do all politicians do these sort of mean things or do Republicans have a sort of specialty in it. People said Brodsky was mean but he dropped out of his race to give his kid a kidney.
I think we should all give them a break for a few days.
