Signals from the WFP

The Brooklyn chapter of the Working Families Party voted last night to "send an expression of support" to Yvette Clarke, a spokesman for the state party, Alex Navaro, confirmed.

Which is weird since the WFP already has a candidate in that race.

Anyway, Navaro explained it wasn't a formal endorsement because "that can only be made at the party's state committee or executive committee."

In one sense, it shows Clarke reaching outside her base of Caribbean women. But critics could see this as contingency plan.

For the record, Yvette is the only candidate who said unequivocally that she WOULD run third party if she didn't get the Dem. nomination. Whether she'd follow through or not remains to be seen and the WFP officially stressed that they have not endorsed any of the four yet when I speculated that she planned a WFP run. This suggests that I was right about a possible WFP run.

Both Chris and Carl have said they would consider a third party run but did not commit the way Yvette did.

It would be simply delish to watch Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Howard Dean, and Ned Lamont squirm in the back seat of their limos when asked on September 13 if they'll support the Democratic nominee in New York's 11th... David Yassky. Of course, consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds -- which means all of them are in for a haunting should that result come to pass!

If Clark is not the Democratic nominee and Yassky is, WFP will give Clark their ballot line (precisely why they're keeping it warm with a lawyer who is not mounting any kind of campaign) and she will win in November, just like Tish James beat Davis. Analogy to Lamont and Lieberman is flawed b/c Clark will not be voting Republican the way Lieberman does. It's further flawed b/c, in a two-person primary, a la Connecticut, Clark would beat Yassky. There is no way that Yassky will win with anything like a majority, obviously.

WFP support, aka Democratic Party lite, is meaningless. It's just a shell for Ratner and other sell outs. The W in WFP actually stands for the world's oldest profession ... I guess they are workers too.

I am begining to hate the WFP as much as I came to hate that fat whore Ray Harding.

Elon Harpaz, the WFP candidate is a placeholder, who will be nomited for Supreme Court in September.

Query: Now that WFP heroine Margarita Lopez-Torres was successful in abolishing judicial nominating conventions, what new tricks will WFP invent to allow them to continue turning such tricks in the futre.

Wonder if the WFP has seen the NY Post story about Yvette having falsely represented her income on her federal financial disclosure statements?

Anonymous says:

looks like DeBlasio is trying to push his influence over WFP... you'd think that the party would be able to muster a little bit of independent thought. It's not like Yassky is a right wing idealogue... on the issues, he's probably more in line with WFP than Yvette is.
