Too Much?
Is the only contested statewide primary basically over?
Today's Siena poll gives Andrew Cuomo a 20-point lead over Mark Green.
Ben is reporting that a WNBC-Marist poll later today from won't be much closer.
The Siena poll says that Cuomo's "lead over Green is only nine points in New York City, which will likely account for approximately 60 percent of the primary vote."
So much for the bounce from that New York Times endorsement.

i don't really think you can say it's over, but it's a significant gap.
ironically, the more the story is "it's over," the less it's over, as it deters voters in pro-cuomo areas with weak, fickle turnout -- e.g. the suburbs.
If Cuomo is winning in NYC then it is over as this is where Mark was counting on his base of support coming from. I would guess that even if Mark was to lose the NYC vote or win it by 2-3 points he will lose the primary for sure. Expect to see the Cuomo attack ads callling his divorce and personal relationships into question starting today.
Too bad Siena is a joke of a polling center.
This is going to be close but Green will win, as people think about the race they will conclude what everyone who thinks about it concluded. The Times and Daily News for example. Andrew can't be trusted. He is a mean, dirty, hack. Mark is a good public servant.
Siena has Cuomo winning NY City by 9 percent and the rest of the state by much more. It looks like the Mean Greenies are going down to a big defeat.
Andrew has been mailing upstate since he was HUD Secretary; his upstate ID was huge. But he will lose to Pirro.
Game, Set, Match. Time for the real election to begin. Cuomo will beat Pirro handily.
Given that this will be a big Democratic year in NY, and the Republicans will spend virtually all their money on trying to hold on to the state senate, Cuomo definitely will be Pirro handily.
Let Pirro go negative on Cuomo first, then he hits her with signing fraudulent tax returns that were the basis for sending her husband to jail along with other misdeeds.
Let's see....during the Rocky years, State wide voters chose tto elect Arthur Levitt, A Democrat to watch the Republicans who controlled the government.
Then the worm turned and we got Mario Cuomo. And during those years, voters chose to elect Ned Regan to watch the Dems.
Then we had Pataki, and the Comtroller was Hevesi and the AG was SPitzer.
See a pattern here?
I don't even know the name of Hevesi's opponent....but I can tell you this. Voters are ticket splitters now moree than ever. And they will WANT to find a Repulbican to vote for...and if nothing else by default it is Pirro.
I am a Democrat supporting Mark Green...but it matters not who wins the Dem pPrimary at this point. The winner will come out sullied and soiled....and Pirro, who has cleaned up her act considerably since the where's page whatever incident, will be the next Attorney General.
Bet on it folks.
All Democratic lawyers brushing off thier tired resumes, fuhgeddabboutit.
