Yesterday was a victory for progressive Democrats in New York City. I worked for Steve Harrison, and he was basically abandoned by the regular Brooklyn Democrats and by the national party. The people who put their boots to the ground were DailyKos readers and CBID members. Harrison may have lost, but they helped put Janele Hyer-Spencer over the edge.
The progressives were also the ones to fight for John Hall's victory.
The other big victor last nigh was Howard Dean- fair or not, he can claim credit for a huge victory in the House. His victory should make Chuck Schumer jealous.
Congratulations to Reps. King and Fossella. Holding the line in a tough environment. 2 strong voices on national security who the voters rewarded.
