The Health Candidate

pink-ribbon-222.JPG oconnell-222.JPG

Here are two fliers from 1199 SEIU and CSEA on behalf of Republican Maureen O'Connell. The full pieces are here and here.

The fliers, which will be hitting mailboxes in Nassau shortly (if not already), tie O'Connell to health care issues in a way that's hard to argue with. (What's the argument against pink ribbons?).

Another Bloomberg funded advertising campaign?

He should stay out of Long Island politics and focus more on correcting his mismanagement of the Dept. of Education and find out why parents become outraged when you tell them you're going to give their kindergartners a metro card to get to school at 5:00 AM

The argument against pink ribbons? Heart disease kills ten times more women than breast cancer.

Heart disease kills 500,000 women a year; breast cancer kills 43,000 a year.

But breast cancer is the darling of the fundraising industry. Those pink ribbons make a lot money for a lot of people.
