Quinn, Thompson for Kellner
This is getting to be quite a regular thing:
Christine Quinn and Bill Thompson have just endorsed Micah Kellner in that soon-to-be race for the Assembly on Manhattan's East Side.

Wow. This doesn't look like it's even going to be close!
Can it be any clearer now that Kellner has the momentum in this race. He has support in the district and from elected officials in areas that cover the district and citywide. He will make a fine assemblyman. Probably the wrong week for Chamlin to take a vacation.
Woo, this must be killing Lonnie!
Of course, if Lonnie had worked for me, I'd probably be inclined to endorse anyone running against one of his clients.
All 3 previous comments by different people, I'm sure.
No, but the first one was mine. Knock it off on the personal attacks against campaign and elected officials' staffers, please!
4:06 is right, the attacks are getting disgusting.
The sound of one hand clapping.
Taking into consideration the endorsements of Maloney, Stringer, Quinn, Thompson, Lappin, Bing and Garodnick, and every 65th A.D. County Committee member who has made a public endorsement, I would say that it's more of a deafening standing ovation, actually!
Now all Micah needs is a vacancy.
Grannis isn't going anywhere. I hope the vitriol that came out of this non-race was worth it.
Is this the new sore loser talk? Speculating that there isn't going to be an open seat anyway.
Lonny's campaign of personal destruction really backfired. He used to work for Thompson. Now he can't even get Thompson's ear. What a wake-up call for him.
Leave Lonnie alone, dammit, or have the guts to print your own name.
what is the deal with this lonnie character? everything i hear about him seems to be so negative. nobody i have ever met has said anything positive about him. why? lonnie: are you really that evil?
APPARENTLY A LOT OF PEOPLE BLOG ON THE POLITICKER BETWEEN 7:30 AND 7:45 ON FRIDAY NIGHTS:

Just a man who puts his pants on one leg at a time like most of the rest of them. He was was trying to help Susan Chambling, and it didn't go so well. He's not a public figure, so
Agree with Brice Peyre on the Lonnie attacks. I have said this before, if you are going to attack people by name have the guts to sign your name.
Congrats to Micah on 2 more impressive endorsements.
Endorsements from Quinn and Thompson? It's time for a moderate republican with some media money to try and make an attack on hackdom in the new Silk Stocking. The moribundness of our politics is depressing.
Run Patrick, Run!
Go Patrick Go!
Patrick Murphy for Assembly.
Brice is right about not picking on Lonny. The "villain" here is not Lonny-the-hired-hand. It's Kreuger, the genius who set out to stick a finger in every East Side eye and ended up showing why she's been disowned even by her fellows in Albany.

You didn't have to say it twice: Brice is always right.
1:10 p.m.: Patrick Murphy does not live in the 65th Assembly District, or, even if he has moved there, did not do so in time to be eligible to run for this seat. In fact, from what I've heard, he doesn't even live in Bing's Upper East Side district, but in the sliver of Carnegie Hill that is gerrymandered into Adam Clayton Powell's 68th District. Some people living off Fifth Avenue on 93rd Street are in East Harlem, according to the New York State Assembly.
The maps are hard to read: Is Patrick in Kreuger's district? Which, as we all know, was originally drawn for Roy Goodman (R).
The petty anger and vindictiveness expressed on this board is really depressing. Both Micah and Susan are progressive democrats who would represent the district well.
They're both hacks who will suck up to Shelly Silver. Give me a break. The only person who seems to be trying to change things is Spitzer, and he's getting killed by the "establishment."
Neither MIcah nor Susan is a hack. Each is a civil, hard-working civil servant. The difference is in how they approached this race. Micah came in with respect for the process and the people (mostly volunteers) who take their civic responsibilities seriously, while Susan simply handed herself over to be used to soother Krueger whose ego had been bruised when she (Krueger) was tossed off the raft by the Albany Democrats. In the end, Krueger's bullying tactics served only to to create a united opposition to Susan. Dumb. And dumber.
We should all be urging Sen. Krueger to work as hard as she can to get Pete Grannis confirmed as DEC Commissioner as the legislature convenes after the break. He will serve the people of this State well in the position.
Neither candidate is a hack as the Stuytownd Ind cynically states. Neither is running on a "go along, get along" platform. That being said, the legislature is supposed to serve as a check and balance on the executive. This is something which many editorial boards and reformers seem to be forgetting.
I heard that Senator Jose Serrano, who represents a lot of the 65th A.D. including all of Roosevelt Island, also has endorsed Kellner's candidacy.
Serrano, Jr. defeated two long-time incumbents to get elected to the City Council and the State Senate, and is a great championg for the arts and cultural institutions. He is also a Senate colleague who has a good working relatioship with Senator Krueger. Serrano's endorsement of Kellner is really a triumph for Micah's campaign.
