In 2005, Weitzman hired Parkside and Evan Stavisky to lay the groundwork for a County Exec campaign in 2009, because Suozzi said he wasn't running for relection. However, if Weitzman does accept the Tax Commissioner's job, its because Suozzi will be running for reelection after all in 2009.
