Hey Azi, what the hell was that press conference for?

Pedi-cabs: I also think they should be allowed to use the lift-assist. In general, they are better for the environment and should be encouraged along with the appropriate insurance and consumer protection regulations.

Pedi cabs, New York City's answer to a circus freak sideshow act. The Mayor is wrong on this and has been double talking the issue. He said "we should let the market dictate how many pedicabs should exist, but if the Council comes to me with a bill that caps them at 500, I'll sign." What a load. Anyone find that just a tad bit disingenuious? So which is it Mr. Mayor?

Not that I am generally a defender of the Mayor, but I recall the context of his remarks. He noted he did not want to put folks out of work. So I think the import of his statements might be that while he would prefer for the entire thing to be market driven, he would agree to the 500 or so cap?

As to the pedi-cabs being ridiculous, I think they at least do not further the pollution of our air. So if something could be worked out about the congestion for the regular as well as the pedi-cabs, and if sensible regulations can be issued, why not allow the industry to survive with a chance to grow?

Just for clarification but the photo was of the presser for the anti-development of Coney Island.
