Cunningham's Case for Bloomberg

The better Rudy Giuliani does in the national polls, the more it proves that Mike Bloomberg could be a real contender for president.

That seemed to be the case that Bloomberg's former communications director Bill Cunningham was making last night on NY1.

"Everyday, another newspaper writes about it. You talked about it. Your guests talk about it. It's on all the talk shows. You can't run away from it. But, I take him at his word [that he won't run]. On the other hand, I know a lot of people wonder if a New York mayor, who is pro choice, pro gun control, pro gay rights, anti-smoking, can run nationally. Rudy will find that out, if you can be all those things and run nationally. But there are many states in the country where a Michael Bloomberg can do very well."

Right, and Cunningham is objective on this topic and the guru and great prognosticator of viable presidential contenders,my ass.

bloomberg and Rudy will never be presidents, a black man and/or woman has a better chance at becoming president than those 2 clowns.

The 3 of them last night were angling for future pay days from bloomberg, so that can't be counted on to say anything except obvious butt kissing commentary.

PS if you think that American big oil and pharmaceutical companies are out of control in America in large part because of the bush Whitehouse, one could only imagine the type of greedy business first capitalist hell bloomberg would set up as president. One only needs to look at what's happening in NYC to the poor, working and middle class under the bloomberg mayorality.

To Fidel at 2:23pm...attacking capitalists...so I guess you're fully recovered thanks to that great healthcare system in Havana.

The medical care in Cuba is free without worries of of being insured and going into financial ruin if you don't have money to get a much needed operation or routine doctor visits.

Your point as it relates to this thread about future US presidents and domestic policies.

Fidel - May I ask, if you had to have major surgery, where would you rather have it: Cuba, or the US?

Bloomberg would make an amazing president.

Let's not deal in hypotheticals, getting seriously ill in America can leave the average American homeless, bloomberg's policies and actions as mayor have created more homelessness and is killing the working and middle class in NYC.

bloomberg has done nothing in the city other than drive up the cost of living here for the average person by giving away the citie's real estate and raising taxes and fees. He sucks as mayor and he could never be president for negatives other than the ones I've cited.I'd love to see him run to watch him get properly whipped in a national debate by the heavy weights in this race.
