A very large abode (Amiaga) What does the Meadowcraft Estate have going for it? It was designed by Wilson Eyre in 1904, for starters; it stretches over seven Southampton acres; it's on Quantuck Bay ("in the legendary yachting community of Quiogue"); its lighting was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany; and its architecture typifies the turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts Movement. And there's more: due to a mysterious "confusion in the market as to the seller's expectations"--according to auctioneer Sheldon Good--the sealed bid deadline for the estate has been pushed back to September 14, 2006. If you happen to be a multimillionaire with money to spend on 1904 waterfront Hamptons estates, there's even more good news: the reserve price has been made public--and it's a mere $12.5 million. - Max Abelson
