A Moinian Takes a Rental Building in Chelsea
Fortuna Realty Group, headed up by Morris Moinian, has paid $31.4 million for a pre-war rental building at 112 Ninth Avenue, at the border of the meatpacking district and Chelsea, city records show.
Recognize the name? Morris, who tends to stick to building hotels, is the brother of the development mogul Joseph Moinian, CEO of the Moinian Group.
This site, Morris tells us, is not likely to go down the boutique hotel route, as the fact that it holds 65 units would make such a development difficult. The four-story brick building has more than 57,000 square feet, according to PropertyShark.
Rather, he’s planning to renovate and upgrade, hoping to lure high-end retail to the storefronts on ground level.

Wow. Top-notch hit piece by Lehman there.
Can we cite a liberal historian for his views of the Republican party. Check.
Let's take a Wisconsin Rep out of context, so instead of the Rep talking about Congress as a whole, let's make it seem like he's being specifically critical only about his fellow Republicans. Done.
Can we find a Republican commentator to quote, to, you know, "balance" things out? What, liberal Jim Pinkerton of Newsday is available? Excellent!
I can guarantee you Lehman wrote this deep, bias-free article, probing the feelings of Republicans in Red America without leaving New York City.
How much should folks trust the Lehman fellow's understanding of Republicans?
Well, the picutre on the sidebar refers to a non-existant Senator John Boehner. LOL.
Stick to the New York political gossip scene, guys. You're embarassing yourselves.
