An American Idol loser and the woman who made one of the worst televised performances of the year topped Billboard's charts in 2007. Daughtry, a rock band lead by American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry, is the most successful artist and Fergie is the No. 2 female artist (behind another American Idol alum, Carrie Unverwood). Fergie is also the leading Pop 100 artist of 2007 and the top selling-artist on Hot Digital Songs and Hot Digital Tracks. Sigh.

At least, The Police earned No. 1 on the year's top tours tally. They had the highest-grossing tour, bringing in $212 million (and counting), while the Genesis reunion tour lagged way behind in second place with a $129 million total. Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveShow took third.
