Charles Barron's Obama Fliers
"White America will not allow Barack Obama to say, ‘I’m proud to be black and I want to make history as the first black president of the United States of America,’” City Councilman Charles Barron told me this afternoon.
To help get that message out, Barron told me he’s printing 10,000 of these fliers and distributing them all over East New York and the rest of the 10th Congressional district, (home of Representative Ed Towns, a Clinton supporter).
“Hillary can say she wants to be the first woman president,” Barron said, “and they wont think she’s just going to take care of women. John McCain is Irish, and he is making that known. But if Barack Obama says I’m black, I’m proud, I’m looking forward to being the first black president of the United State of America, in this racist country, whites will fear him and say he’s just going to take care of black people.”
UPDATE: Ben has an email from an Obama fund-raiser who is desperately seeking money and saying the campaign is targeting voters in five congressional districts here. In Manhattan, they're districts represented by Jerry Nadler, Carolyn Maloney and Charlie Rangel. In Brooklyn, the districts are represented by Yvette Clarke and Ed Towns.
