It should be interesting to see how the office of Hillary Clinton reacts to the today’s Spitzer news.

Clinton has long had a friendly relationship with Spitzer, and she cost herself grievously early in the campaign for refusing to criticize the governor’s highly controversial plan to allow illegal aliens to obtain New York driver’s licenses. (She came out in opposition to the plan only after Spitzer abandoned it.)

I emailed her press office right after the governor’s announcement and they don’t have anything to say yet.

UPDATE: While campaigning in Pennsylvania, Clinton said she had no comment when asked by reporters: "I obviously am sending my best wishes and thoughts to the governor and to his family," she said.
