CNN Taps Stars to Honor Ordinary People

A snarky report in on Page Six of Wednesday's New York Post claimed that CNN publicists were scrambling this week to convince B-list guests to attend the network's first ever "Hero's Tribute," which took place last night at the Museum of Natural History, after first choices like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did not confirm attendance.

Still: The show—hosted by Anderson Cooper and Christiane Amanpour, and designed to honor some 18 "ordinary people" who, the network says, have helped change our world for the better—must go on! Tyra Banks was on the red carpet, in a Pamela Roland gown and vintage jewelry. "I didn't want to be too trendy," she said. "Anderson's here! I thought I had to look White House-ey!" read more »

It's Their Turn! Diana Ross's Progeny Prevail at Baby Phat

Some of Diana Ross's beautiful progeny showed up at the Baby Phat show at the Roseland Ballroom on Friday. In fact, Evan Ross, 19, and his sister, Chudney Silberstein, 31, were early arrivals."We've been to a few parties," declared Mr. Ross, who said he's looking forward to an upcoming Roberto Cavalli event. "It's my favorite town to party in. I'm not leaving New York for a minute."

A budding actor, he recently won widespread acclaim for his role as an IV-positive, gay teenager in the HBO special, Life Support, opposite Queen Latifah. read more »

Hello, Park City, At Last

Spencer Morgan has arrived in Park City, Utah. Look out, hot tubs of Sundance!

Our trusty Transom reporter took the glam low-rent flight, of course, with a lay-over in Las Vegas. Some seriously lame situation at JFK caused him to miss his connecting flight. Naturally, he made the most of his six hours in Vegas, taking in 400 bucks or so at the blackjack table, playing alongside a friendly choreographer for Mary J. Blige. (It's always so much like Showgirls!) We here back at corporate pray his lucky streak continues on the crowded, gloppy streets of Park City.

How Haute Living Treats Guests

Our friends at Curbed already pointed out the "awkward photoshop job." But the awkwardness was not fully realized until diving into The Real Estate's archives.

This photo appeared in the promotional materials for Cipriani Club Residences. It was delivered in a handsome tote bag that was given out by children (dressed as old-fashioned paperboys), following Mary J. Blige's performance at 55 Wall Street.

Under the original photo the tag reads, "Cipriani Club member Naomi Campbell with Giuseppe Cipriani and guest."

Must be quite a letdown for our suave guest who always wears his sunglasses at night.

One minute, you're drinking and laughing with supermodels, and the next minute you wind up on the cutting room floor of a luxury real estate magazine.
