More evidence: a reader, Jeff Immelt, has successfully <a href="http://mondoweiss.observer.com/2006/05/tim-russert-meows-at-the-times.html">parodied</a> my use of the expression "take it like a man," and made me feel very oldfashioned. Apologies to all. I will attempt to modernize my cliches. (I'm not sure it's a parody. Years ago Dan Menaker, in writing kind rejection letters at the New Yorker, a startling form in itself, said I had confused parody and satire. I think actually Immelt wrote a satire.)]]></description>
