Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe Frolicked in Morocco While Filming 'Body of Lies'

“There is a danger with being jingoistic—you can’t do that—but this film isn’t about the war,” said the director Ridley Scott at the Sunday night premiere of his new film Body of Lies, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. “It’s really a spy film in the spirit of The Spy Who Came In From the Cold, The Third Man, or Spy Game, my brother’s film.
Another Awesome Trailer: Revolutionary Road

Here at the Culture Czar, we've had our eye on Revolutionary Road for some time. Academy Award winner Sam Mendes' adaptation of the depressingly awesome Richard Yates novel, which reunites doomed Titanic lovers Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, seems like it should be a guaranteed home run: high-pedigree Oscar bait that will also be incredibly watchable and wildly sad. We. Can't. Wait.

However, there was some cause for concern over what Mr. Mendes would do with this material. Granted, he's an adept technical director. His films, without exception, are beautiful to look at, thanks in large part to his brilliant cinematographers like the late Conrad L. read more »

Morning Memo: Graydon Carter's "Borrowed" Waverly Inn Design; Robert DeNiro and 50 Cent Go Shooting; McCain Camp's Self-Parody

Vanity Fair editor and restaurateur Graydon Carter has admitted what many have long suspected (hoped?): There is nothing that special about his ultra-exclusive Waverly Inn, the design for which was apparently "shamelessly" and "ruthlessly" borrowed from other places. [P6 ]

Leonardo DiCaprio is off-again with Israeli model Bar Refaeli. [NYDN]

During the filming of Righteous Kill, Robert DeNiro took 50 Cent to a shooting range to "break the ice." [People]

Reformed drunk-dialer and Insider correspondent Pat O'Brien is having weird delusions of grandeur, as evidenced by an email he sent out to the staff of his show (sample: "Even Joe Biden said, 'You should be running for president!'") [ read more »

Leo DiCaprio Welcoming Another Twilight Zone?

Cue that creepy theme song. Leonardo DiCaprio's production company and Warner Bros. are quietly seeking treatments and script ideas based on the show for feature development.

In the 1983 Twilight Zone, Warners made a four-segment film, with each segment based on an original episode in the series. Each mini-movie was made by a different director -- Joe Dante, John Landis, George Miller and Steven Spielberg. Mr. DiCaprio and his cohorts don't plan on making another episodic movie, but rather hope to build one continuing story line based on one or more episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The companies plan on making big bucks off the rerun watchers:

Warners owns rights to the Rod Serling-penned episodes, which account for the bulk of its 1959-64 run. read more »
