At Tara Subkoff Party, Lydia Hearst Muses on Wearing White After Labor Day

On Thursday evening, a crowd of very well-dressed people gathered at the private club Norwood on West 14th Street for cocktails and a screening of a film directed by Tara Subkoff to promote her new line for Bebe. The film—"inspired from my favorite film noirs from back in the day," Ms. Subkoff told us—starred model Lydia Hearst, whom we found upstairs posing for photos on a white chaise alongside Ms. Subkoff.

We asked Ms. Hearst about her plans during Fashion Week. "I'm doing the full circuit this year, so I'm excited—it's amazing to go out, to get dressed up every night," she said. read more »

Despite selling off Imitation of Christ last year, the label she founded with Matthew Damhave, actress and fashion designer Tara Subkoff continues to be a presence during fashion week. (Even when she's not making topless models push vacuum cleaners across the floor.)

On Thursday, September 4, Ms. Subkoff will screen her third short film, Fame Fatale at Norwood, which she made for Bebe. The film stars Danity Kane's Aubrey O'Day and socialite Lydia Hearst. (In the film, Ms. Hearst is wearing Ms. Subkoff's collection for Bebe.)

Ms. Hearst will co-host the screening and Arden Wohl is expected to attend.
Bianca's 'Jagger Dagger': The Thing to Get For Someone Who Doesn't Require Anything Useful?

Not everyone who made an appearance at the Tim Burtonesque Angel Orensanz space on the Lower East Side last night knew what it was exactly that they were there to celebrate.

“I don’t actually know what it is, what is it?” asked designer Alexander Wang, who seemed bewildered when we wondered what he thought of the evening’s guest of honor, the “Jagger Dagger.”

Let us explain, Mr. Wang. We were gathered for the release of a specially designed $250,000 ice pick that Jade Jagger created for Belvedere vodka, but even we’re not entirely sure why since the event was not a fund-raiser of any kind. read more »

Leelee Sobieski Makes Branding Herself Enjoyable! And, Ladies Take Note: 'I'm Straight'

Is Leelee Sobieski Hollywood’s latest contribution to New York’s late-night party scene? (After all, it’s been little over a week since the Daily Transom last ran into the 24-year-old actress at Simon Hammerstein’s cabaret, The Box.) A little after 10 p.m. last night, we found the Walk All Over Me star at Bella’s near Kenmare Square, where she’d just polished off a glass of red wine.

“Yes, I’m having a good time. I spend a lot of time indoors too. You know, it’s interesting; I think that the world is changing and you have to—it’s weird—but you have to maybe go out a little bit if you want people to acknowledge you, to then acknowledge your work,” she admitted at the after party for the Adrienne Shelly Foundation’s inaugural benefit. “It used to be the other way around; you used to acknowledge somebody’s work and then acknowledge them. But it doesn’t work that way anymore, and I’ve given in,” a smirking Ms. Sobieski added. read more »
