The Week in DVR: Dreamy Dreyfuss, Chappelle's Show, Opening Night

Monday: Inside the Actor's Studio

Like most everyone else, we're iffy on James Lipton, who hosts Inside the Actor's Studio. Or maybe we're just jealous, because he has the best job in the world. Either way, we'll be recording tonight when he talks to comedian Dave Chappelle for the show's 200th episode. Or rather, Mr. Chappelle talks to Mr. Lipton. In celebration of the big anniversary, the tables will turn for the night, with hosted being hosted. Count on loads of best off clips, and copious cackles from our favorite comedian. [Bravo, 8 p.m.]

Tuesday: Opening Night

Two years ago, we caught a screening of Opening Night at BAM that also featured a short talk with Gena Rowlands, who stars in the film and was married to its director, John Cassavetes. read more »

View's Hasselbeck Would Like to Work for Sean Hannity

In early October, The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck denied rumors that she was considering moving to Fox News. But today on the show, during an interview with Richard Dreyfuss, Ms. Hasselbeck—who recently stumped for Sarah Palin in Florida—quipped that she'd "like" to work for Fox News' Sean Hannity.

In a clip provided by the Huffington Post, Mr. Dreyfuss describes working for W. director Oliver Stone by saying, "Imagine working for Sean Hannity."

As Mr. Dreyfuss pauses to let that image sink in, Ms. Hasselbeck chimes in, "I would like that!"

"Would you?" The actor asks. "Then you'd like working for Oliver... You know, you can be a fascist even when you're on the left."

The Week in DVR: Richard Dreyfuss' Opus; Happy 40th, Julia Roberts!

MONDAY

Monday’s future just got a little bit bleaker. Dancing With the Stars (ABC)—whose finale last Tuesday earned the network its best ratings on that night in over seven years—cha-cha-cha-ed out of our lives. CBS canceled their December 10th debates, as the Democratic nominees balked, fearing the bad publicity of a protest by striking news writers. (CBS is hurting: How I Met Your Mother is in repeats, as well as the rest of the network’s sitcoms.) And NBC announced this week that Chuck (NBC, 8 PM) will be replaced by American Gladiators—the original was obviously before its time—on January 7th. read more »
