Paterson's Affordable Housing Ads

Three days after the New York Times reported that Representative Charlie Rangel rents four rent-stabilized apartments in Harlem, Rangel's neighbor, Governor David Paterson, unveiled this public service announcement on the topic of housing for non-rich people, featuring actor Edward Norton, and two others featuring former Giant Tiki Barber and former Met (briefly) Mo Vaughn.

Paterson’s office said the ads began airing on July 14. In an press release announcing the ads, Paterson’s office said the objective is “to promote the continued development of affordable housing in communities throughout New York State. The PSAs are part of a larger campaign – Affordable Housing Works – which touts attractive and high quality affordable housing developments across New York State.”

Marvel Mush

The Incredible Hulk
Running Time 114 minutes
Written by Zak Penn
Directed by Louis Leterrier
Starring Edward Norton, William Hurt and Liv Tyler

Five years have passed since the first big-screen Hulk wasted the reputation of director Ang Lee on a computer-generated comic strip nobody wanted to see. That film suffered punishing reviews and a devastating 70 percent drop-off in attendance in the second week, from which it never recovered. But you can’t keep an old, green, 10-ton Brussels sprout down for long. It’s too early to predict if The Incredible Hulk, the CGI sequel, will sink to that same level of box office infamy, but take it from me: You’ll have the DVD by Labor Day.  read more »

Edward Norton Ready to Shop Around His Barack Doc'

Barack Obama just can’t get those celebs off his back! We hear from Cinematical that Variety’s reporting two-time Oscar nominee Edward Norton and his Class 5 Films are getting ready to shop around a documentary about Mr. Obama’s presidential campaign. And it seems like they were ahead of the hype – the impetus for the film, according to Mr. Norton, was a speech Mr. Obama gave during the Democratic National Convention back in 2004: “We were all so struck by Barack’s speech and talked about how exciting it was to see someone from our generation, not our parents’, make his presence felt in such an inspiring way … It was akin to the way I remembered my dad describing how he felt when Kennedy gave his inauguration speech.” Directors Amy Rice and Alicia Sams have been shooting since 2006, when Mr. Obama gave them access on his visit to Africa that year, and the film’s release is set for 2009 (with or without Mr. Obama in the Whitehouse).
