Cuomo's Transition Team

Andrew Cuomo announced members of his transition team at Fordham University this morning.

Worth noting on that transition are people like:

--Albany DA David Soares, who is investigating state comptroller Alan Hevesi over the chauffeur scandal;

--Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes, who is prosecuting former Assemblyman and Kings County Democratic Leader Clarence Norman;

--Ed Cox, one-time Republican senatorial challenger to Hillary Clinton; and

--former Democratic opponents Charlie King and Denise O'Donnell.

One group that is not heavily represented on the list are people currently in the Attorney General's office.

The full list is after the jump.  read more »

Think Globally, Politick Nationwide

For some reason, Mayor Bloomberg went out to California today to announce an environmental sustainability initiative he mentioned a while back to the New York League of Conservation Voters. (Wait--we see a pattern: environment, voters, California?) We'd normally yawn at the creation of another commission, but this one will oversee the long-term strategic plan for the city we've had our eyes on that could bring decks over Sunnyside Yards and light-rail and pedestrian reclamations and other things we've never heard about. (Wait--is that long-term strategic plan just getting started or almost done?)
