Hillary's Woman Tour

After appearing on ABC's "The View" this morning, Hillary Clinton continued her estrogen -charged "Women Changing America" sweep through New York today by giving a speech at the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee luncheon at the Grand Central Hyatt.

"A lot of people took a chance on me," said Clinton about her senate run in a ballroom full of mostly women. "We now face a new question: Is America ready for a woman President."

"Is it easy to make history? Is it easy to change history? Of course not."

In introducing the candidate, Ellen Malcolm, the president of Emily's List, noted that Clinton was leading by more than 30 points in some polls, and enjoyed overwhelming support from women, especially in the primary state of New Hampshire.

Hillary Sworn In

The Emily's List luncheon featuring Hillary Clinton that just ended in Washington had as its centerpiece a video depicting an inauguration in which an actor who looked a lot like John Roberts swore in a woman with short blond hair.

According to one attendee of the luncheon, Emily List's president, Ellen Malcolm presented the video to Mrs. Clinton "as a gift."

(Emily's List said it would be sending over the video in a few minutes. We'll update when it arrives.)

For her part, Mrs. Clinton reprised an old anecdote about her original decision to run for Senate in which a high school girls basketball captain urged her to "dare to compete."

Which she seems to have taken very much to heart.
