Leave it to the nostalgic brass at Condé Nast Media Group to nudge Hollywood, if only for a night, back to its Golden-Age heyday. On Thursday evening, to celebrate the publishing powerhouse’s “Movies Rock” TV special, clothing label Guess hosted a party at St. Vibiana’s Cathedral in L.A. For the event, models were adorned in red and black boas and six outfits from the brand’s Marciano line, reports WWD. To entertain the evening’s guests, which included actress Olivia Wilde and Paul and Maurice Marciano, was 19-year-old pop sensation Kat DeLuna. Referring to her satin hot pants and sparkly bomber jacket, both by Marciano, Ms. DeLuna remarked, “My outfit is the most important thing, besides the vocals. "Movies Rock" will air this Friday at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.

Conde Nast: Anything for Portfolio!

It's still more than six months until Portfolio launches, but Condé Nast isn't letting things go until the last minute. In addition to scooping up several reporters and editors for Portfolio, the company has also just acquired a website, www.porfolio.com, for the forthcoming business magazine. Condé Nast did not announce the purchase price of the website, which the company obtained from Portfolios.com. Portfolios.com sells commercial art and provides freelance job listings.

Condé Nast has also, not coincidentally, entered into a "promotional program" with Portfolios.com.  read more »
