It's Zeckendorf TV!
While Harvey Weinstein's old pad might be a fun place to watch movies, 15 Central Park West's new screening room--designed by Theo Kalomirakis-- could be even better.
The glamorous screening room will accommodate 20 people and will be located on the fifth floor of the new luxury tower. It will also feature plush velvet, extra wide seating in a neo-classical environment with clean lines and modern details. The 11 foot by 7 foot screen is in state-of-the-art high definition, according to the press release.

After reportedly spending $45 million on his penthouse apartment; hopefully, hedge funder Daniel Loeb will get to reserve it for the Super Bowl.  read more »

Celebrity Roundup: Morgy, Fekkai, and the Billion-Dollar Building

  • District attorney (and reigning power geezer) Robert Morgenthau, recently purchased a two-bedroom unit above his Upper East Side apartment. Mr. Morgenthau has not yet filed plans to join the two apartments, so perhaps he is waiting for a nice project to complete when, or if, he retires. Also, Julianne Moore buys an apartment in the West Village. (New York Times)
  • Already, sales at 15 CPW have crossed the billion-dollar mark. That’s where Daniel Loeb is breaking the sales record, with his $45 million purchase. (New York Post)
  • Frédéric Fekkai has gone into contract for a 3,500-square-foot duplex on Fifth Avenue. Reportedly, the stylist is paying closer to $7.95 million for the pre-war pad, down from the earlier $10.5 million asking price. (New York)

Celebrity Roundup: Streep, Loeb and Beltran

  • Meryl Streep has officially sold her West 12th Street townhouse for $9.1 million to Elizabeth “Libbet” Johnson, a follow-up to a Page Six item from a few months back. Also, the fourth $50 million property is now on the market, albeit "quietly." Any sale at asking could break the residential sales record. (New York Post)
  • Hedge funder Daniel Loeb, who reportedly dropped $45 million on a penthouse at 15 Central Park West (which will break Rupert Murdoch’s record when it closes), is now selling his Bank Street townhouse. In May, The Observer reported on Mr. Loeb’s $11.2 million townhouse purchase from fellow art collector John Stewart. Mr. Loeb had intended to renovate the 12,000-square-foot residence to house much of his contemporary art collection. But instead, his family is now headed for a luxury apartment overlooking Central Park. (New York Times)
  • Johnny Damon is not the only baseball player looking for a new apartment. The Mets' Carlos Beltran has been spotted over at 425 Fifth. Could he be purposely avoiding the popular Yankee buildings near the FDR? (New York)

There Goes the Neighborhood and Other News

Who really would want to set a record for paying the most ever for a condo in New York? Hedge-fund manager Daniel Loeb apparently doesn’t mind. He’s signed a contract for a $45 million penthouse at 15 Central Park West. Across Central Park, Sherry-Netherland residents want the hotel to go co-op—they have to go next door to the Pierre to get a decent meal now-- while Queens City Council members claim their constituents are getting scared away by something far worse: upzoning.

At Ground Zero, the Mayor and Governor both think they can save money by putting the Port Authority in charge of constructing the Sept. 11 memorial while New Jersey Transit is going to help out the Moynihan Station redevelopment with a little cash.  read more »
