A Look Back: Miley Cyrus Joins Lohan, Hilton, Wolfowitz in Denouncing Mean Magazine
As you may have already read, Miley Cyrus is totally embarrassed by the semi-topless (back view) photos printed of her in this month's Vanity Fair. In a statement put out by her publicist, Ms. Cyrus, age 15, said, "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed... I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."
Representatives of the magazine responded that during Annie Liebovitz's shoot, "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day... Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."
This isn't the first time a star has felt stung by VF. Dewey ingenues like Lindsay Lohan and Paul Wolfowitz have complained of being misquoted and beloved icons like Courtney Love and Paris Hilton blame the magazine for their subsequent vilification. Here, a look back in anger, denial, and occasional admission. read more »
Breaking: Broker Exodus! Four Heavyweights Leave Corcoran
The heftiest brokerage in the city just lost three hefty senior vice presidents (and a VP too). Uber-broker Wendy Maitland (whom you may remember from this weekend as Madonna's broker) is one of the recently departed (she's at the top, on the middle left).
"Sometimes issues come up that make it better for the brokers and the company to part ways," Corcoran CEO Pam Liebman told The Real Estate on Monday afternoon. "In this case, that's the path we chose to take." (Ms. Liebman was using the royal we.) "They're good brokers, we wish them well."
Those good brokers include Wilbur Gonzalez (on the far left above), who brought in $200 million for Corcoran in 2004 and 2005 alone--and who had the honor of representing Courtney Love's Soho loft. Another departed SVP, Erin Boisson Aries (above, far right), has been one of the firm's top-producing brokers. Then there's vice president Reid Price, who had already produced "more than $800 million in sales" in a decade.
All that information comes from Corcoran's Web profiles of its brokers. Eerily, those pages have been taken down from the Internet.
Why the exodus? "Maybe you should get that from them," Ms. Liebman said. "I don't feel comfortable speaking on internal politics." But the four brokers couldn't immediately be reached for comment--so, naturally, there's more soon to come.

Just another breakfast nook.
Over the years, Mr. Isaacson has tried to keep up with the Soho building's high-profile residents, as he told The Observer last March.
"I am quite a flamboyant creature," said Mr. Isaacson. "When you have people like Lenny Kravitz in the building--and we've just lost Courtney Love--you have to hold your own."Since coming on the market earlier this year, celebrities like Kate Hudson and Billy Joel taken a walk through this lavish apartment, which was designed by Benjamin Noriega Ortiz. (He also did Lenny's place upstairs).
Considering that the Piano Man is now looking at a $12.9 million townhouse in Brooklyn Heights, he probably won't be at tomorrow's open house. read more »

But the Arrange-a-Room feature is sure to waste the most precious hours at work. Instead of simply gawking at floorplans, you can place pieces of furniture throughout the sprawling spreads, like this one at 30 Crosby Street.
Just try to imagine how Lenny Kravitz or Courtney Love, who have condos in the Soho building, might have set up their pads.
