Newsweek Moving Downtown?

Newsweek is looking to leave its headquarters at 1775 Broadway near Columbus Circle and is fishing for new office space around Manhattan, the Post reports.  The newsweekly is considering 100 Church Street in the Financial District, which sits at the foot of the World Trade Center redevelopment site.  read more »

The Post's Lois Weiss, surely a fan of the brand, reports that True Religion Jeans will be opening a New York flagship on 130 Prince Street.

What should you expect? 2,000 square feet of Joey Stretch in Dark Hand Sand Wash, Johnny Mellow Yellow, Joey Rigid Bleached (and Gold Rush, obviously).  read more »

Who Dare Face the Port Authority?

Lawyers, apparently. Lois Weiss says that Covington & Burling are considering taking five floors at The New York Times Co. headquarters at Eighth Avenue and 41st Street, and would be the second law firm to rent there. -Matthew Schuerman

We missed this yesterday but Lois Weiss had an item about Halle Berry and Bruce Willis filming at Larry Silverstein’s showroom in 7 World Trade Center. A stroke of marketing genius: Weiss surmises that a lot of clients will want to tour Silverstein’s near-empty tower when filming gets underway.
