Who's Sitting Where in Invesco Field Press Box?

Who's Sitting Where in Invesco Field Press Box?

Even this populist Democratic National Convention has a seating chart, and therefore a social hierarchy.

According to the DNC's rubric, The Washington Post is deserving of the better seat than The Times, and Jezebel and Glamour deserve a closer seat than The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Mother Jones and Portfolio.

First, a little background. There's really no bad seat in the Denver Broncos press box in Invesco Field, but there certainly are better ones. There are two rows of tables that curve in the press box from the end zone to about the 20-yard line. You want to be in that first row, which features delightfully unimpeded views of the whole stadium other than the glass that surrounds the front of the press box from floor to ceiling; in the second row, you'll see Barack Obama pretty nicely, but you'll also be staring at the back of someone's head.  read more »

Still Urbane: Tkacik

After at least five people made for the exits from Radar in the last two months, Radar editor Maer Roshan told the Observer in early June that the magazine would make "impressive" new hires. He held good on his promise. Moe Tkacik, the caustic, speedy and popular writer at Jezebel, is joining radaronline.com as a senior writer, editor Alex Balk wrote Radar's Web site last night.

Her first day is on August 18. She's also the latest alumnus of Gawker Media to join the magazine: in addition to Mr. Balk, Ana Marie Cox recently signed a contract to serve as Radar's Washington editor.

Music critic. Blogger. Photographer. Composer... Advice columnist?

That's the newest gig The New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones can add to his C.V. after appearing in Jezebel's popular "Pot Psychologist" video advice feature this week.

Mr. Frere-Jones appears alongside the usual Pot Psychologists, Tracie "Slut Machine" Egan and Four Four's Richard Juzwiak, answering questions about sex, dating, ailments, and the difference between ambivalence and ambiguity. (Don't even ask about ambidextrousness.)

It's unclear if Mr. Frere-Jones properly prepared himself for the role of Pot Psychologist (he's seen enjoying a large glass of red wine at one point and admiring Ms. Egan's Ikea bedspread), but as always, the video comes with a warning to kids to stay away from drugs.

Yesterday afternoon, New York Press editor David Blum sent out an e-mail to Media Mob advertising his newest sex columnist.
