Los Angelite Sells at the Plaza for $13 M.

Yet another California-based multi-millionaire has sold an eight-figure New York pied-a-terre. Unlike the classics-loving viticulturists of wine country who recently sold their townhouse, the latest sellers hail from the sunny shores of Los Angeles. Robert Beyer, a finance muckety-muck of Southern Californian extraction, has sold his apartment at The Plaza, city records show. Read More

This Plaza Penthouse Apparently Comes with Four Ovens

This Plaza penthouse is a bit cold and impersonal, but, man, does it look cool. Wide-open space, white walls and high ceilings make the place seem a bit institutional (not really a comforting place to call home), but look at that view! And it has plenty of space (four bedrooms and a terrace) for looking out at it.

The apartment is 6,319 square feet, including a 95-square-foot pantry and wine cellar, a private elevator, a wood-paneled dressing room and oak parquet floors throughout. All of those features will, however, set you back $37.5 million.

Eloise’s Awkward Phase: Can the Plaza Get Over Its Growing Pains?

As the sun set last Wednesday over Central Park, dozens of the city's top real estate brokers gathered inside the triplex penthouse of the Plaza. They sipped proper drinks and nibbled quails egg and smoked salmon. They chattered about art and opera and books, the usual uptown pretensions, but also, and mostly, about recent deals.

Chief Read More

Oak Room Felled by Off-Brand Party

When the Plaza was sold in 2004 and transformed thereafter from The Greatest Hotel of All Time into The Greatest Condo Conversion of All Time, among the jewels rechristened was the storied Oak Room restaurant. Like the hotel itself, the place had grown fusty, and it was out to attract a whole new generation of Read More
